To create and allocate the compensatory leave type for your employees, follow the steps below:

As a Manager:

  • Navigate to Leave module from the left menu.

  • Under the Leave Settings tab > Leave Types, click on New leave type.

  • Enter the name of the leave type and check the "Is Compensatory Leave" checkbox. Enter the other mandatory details and click the button Create.

  • To edit leave balance for each of your employees individually, navigate to the tab Team Leave > Leave Balance> All Records (for admins) / My Team Records (for managers). Click on the button Bulk Edit leave balance for all employees.

  • To edit leave balance for all of your employees as a group, click on the button Bulk edit leave balance for all employees.

  • To edit the balance for specific employees, navigate to Team Leave> Leave Balance> My Team Records. Choose the employees and click on them and edit the values for the respective employees accordingly.

  • To assign the compensatory leave type to your employees, navigate to Team Leave> Leave Balance> My Team Records. Choose an employee and click on them.

  • Choose the new leave type from the dropdown & click Add.

  • To assign the compensatory leave type to all of your employees all at once, navigate to Team Leave> Leave Balance> All Records> Bulk Edit leave balance for all employees.

  • Choose the leave type from the dropdown at the top of the pop up window and click on the radio button under Assign to assign the chosen leave type to all of your employees at once.

  • Compensatory Off is an entitled leave that an employee can take on a working day as a compensation for working at employers request on a holiday or weekend. In simple terms, when an employee works overtime at the request of his employer, then later he/she can take time off or compensatory off from their work.
